Glass & performance
Choose the right glass package
The glass does most of the work in a modern window. We’ll help you match the package to your home, your budget and your goals, whether that’s lower energy bills, a quieter bedroom, or less fading on floors and furniture.
- Low-E coatings reflect heat back into your home in winter and block it in summer, while cutting UV that fades fabrics.
- Argon gas fill between panes adds insulation without affecting clarity.
- Warm-edge spacers reduce condensation around the edge of the glass.
- Grids, obscure and tempered glass are available for style, privacy and safety.

What is the difference between retrofit and full-frame window replacement?
A retrofit (insert) window fits inside your existing frame, which keeps interior and exterior trim intact and is usually faster and more affordable. A full-frame replacement removes the old window down to the rough opening, which is best when the frame is rotted or damaged or when you want to change the window size. We look at every opening during your estimate and recommend the right approach.
Should I choose double-pane or triple-pane windows?
Modern Low-E double-pane windows are a big upgrade over single-pane glass and old double-pane units. Triple-pane glass adds another layer of insulation and noticeably reduces outside noise, which many Salem homeowners near busy streets appreciate. We’ll explain the cost difference and energy benefit for your home.
